WILLIAM BALDUS DIED SUNDAY IN AMES
William Baldus, 86, died on Sunday morning at 6:30 o'clock at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, where he had been a patient since Wednesday. He suffered a stroke Wednesday, which caused his death.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Adams Funeral Home in Ames and burial was in the Ames cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Gross Baldus, one daughter, Mrs. Emma Miskell, and two sons, Dr. Chas. C. Baldus of Goldfield and Henry Baldus, and 4 grandchildren.
Mr. Baldus was one of the pioneers of Lafayette township, coming to this community at the age of 2 years. He farmed west of Story City until he retired some years ago and moved to Ames, where he has since resided. Mr. and Mrs. Baldus were married 56 years in April.
