STORY CITY MAN DIED IN EAST

Hans L. Severeid, 52, Died of Heart Failure May 8--Funeral Held Here Tuesday

Hans L. Severeid, 52, World war veteran, who formerly lived here, died Wednesday, May 8, at Pittsburgh, Pa., of coronary thrombosis. The body was brought to Story City and there was prayer service Tuesday at 1:30 at the home of his sister, Mrs. Oliver Alsager, followed by funeral rites at 2 o'clock at Immanuel Lutheran church with Rev. T. T. Heimarck in charge.

Pall bearers were members of the local Legion post, namely, Wm. Peterson, Ben Evenson, John Hill, Alfred Jacobson, Ole Roth and T. M. Holm.

Obituary

Hans L. Severeid was born in Gravdal, Norway, Feb. 13, 1888. He came with his parents to this country in 1893, and grew to manhood in this community.

He was a veteran of the World war and since his discharge has lived most of the time in Indiana and Pennsylvania. He died in Pittsburgh, Pa., May 8, 1940. His death caused by coronary thrombosis, was sudden and the news came as a shock to his family. Surviving him are four sisters, Mrs. Oliver Alsager, Story City; Mrs. Inga White, Des Moines; Mrs. R. J. Howell, Jacksonville, Fla. and one brother, Geo. Severeid of Ames.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Severeid, preceded him in death.
