Sheldahl Woman Buried Yesterday
Funeral services were held at Sheldahl Methodist church Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Annie Niemier, Rev. Fred Martin was in charge.
Mrs. Nelda Twedt sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and Lester Moore sang "Sunrise." Mrs. Albert Buche was the accompanist.
Pallbearers were Severt Wallen, August Carlson, Harvey Trumbull, John Lehman, Arnold DeBie and Merlin Severtson. Interment was in the Sheldahl cemetery.
Annie Elizabeth Niemier, daughter of Laura and Gamaliel Netterfield, was born at Polk City, Mar. 27, 1872, and passed away at her home in Sheldahl Sunday morning at 10:30 at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 23 days.
All the education she received was at the little country school southeast of Sheldahl.
At the age of 22 years she was united in marriage to Edward Niemier of Eagle Grove. To this union were born three sons and one daughter: William of Sheldahl, Millard of Des Moines, Mrs. Virgil Miller of Sheldahl and Claude, having preceded her in death at the age of nine months. She also leaves five grandchildren: Claude Niemier of Des Moines, Gerald Niemier of Polk City, Raymond Niemier is in the air force stationed at Ft. Warren, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Marjorie and Donnie Miller of Sheldahl. One grandson, Robert Niemier, preceded her in death several years ago.
She was the last member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Jim, George, Charley and Frank.
Mrs. Niemier was baptized into the Christian faith as a child.
