Mr. V. P. Ballard, an old resident of Story County, but who has been making his home in the west for several years past, died at Pueblo, Colorado, September 27, 1896, at the age of 58 years, of brain fever. Mr. Ballard leaves a wife and two married daughters in Colorado, also several brothers and sisters in this county, to mourn his death. The Herald sympathizes with the bereaved relatives in their sad affliction.
