A SAD ACCIDENT
An Old Man Kicked and Killed By A Horse.
Nels P. nelson, the aged and respected father of N. M. Nelson, met with a sudden and terrible death at this place at noon, Saturday. He went over to the livery barn to tell the boys to hitch up to take a passenger to the country, and as he walked down the middle of the barn he was kicked on the head by a horse. He was instantly killed and fell on his face where he laid until he was discovered a few minutes later and carried into the office of the barn. Medical aid was summoned, but he as already dead. Funeral services were held at the hotel at four o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Tanner. Mr. Nelson would have been seventy-one years of age in August. He was a good old man--loved and respected by all who knew him. His kindness will long be remembered by the guests and employees at the Allen house. Those who sorrow because of his death have the sympathy of the entire community.
