DIED--At his home three and one-half miles south of Story City, Iowa, at two o'clock, Sunday morning, March 11, 1896, Mr. William Baldus, aged 78 years, of jaundice. Mr. Baldus was born in Germany and came to America over fifty years ago. He settled in Illinois where he married. Thirty-eight years ago he came to Story county where he has since lived. Three sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Baldus, and while they were yet young the mother died leaving them to the care of the father. Be it said to the honor of Mr. Baldus that he brought his sons up to honorable manhood and they are all respected citizens living in this community. Funeral services were held at the residence at ten o'clock, Tuesday, conducted by a priest after which the remains were laid to rest in the home cemetery.
