DEATH OF OMOND KRINGLAND

He Died at the Home of Capt. Wier, Sunday Night, of Lockjaw.

A stalwart young man, just on the eve of his marriage, as it were, stricken down with but a few hours notice, in the strength of his manhood! Such was the fate of Omond S. Kringland. Admired and respected by all who knew him, this young man, who, but two days before went about his daily toil in the flush of health, is called to the great beyond. Mr. Omund S. Kringland was born in southern Norway, Europe, January 22, 1868. At the age of twenty he came to America and located at Story City. For three years he worked as a section-hand on the North western railroad, but for two years past he has been employed by Mr. W. H. Wier as a farm-hand. He was a sober industrious young man, an active member of the Young People's Society, and those who know him best respect him most. Funeral services were held at three o'clock, Tuesday, in the Lutheran church conducted by Rev. Sherven, and the crowd that followed the remains to their last long resting place was one of the largest ever congregated on a like mission in Story City. Mr. Kringland had no near relatives in this country that we know of, except a cousin living near Ellsworth and an aunt in Illinois. Although he suffered and died without the consolation of a mother's care, yet he had kind attention and all that medical aid would do was done to relieve his sufferings. He was given a Christian burial in a Christian land, and those beyond the sea who are left to mourn can be consolidated by this fact. The cause of Mr. Kringland's death was lockjaw caused by having a tooth pulled about two weeks before.
