DEATH OF MRS. OLSON AT LOCAL HOSPITAL
Mrs. Julia Flogstad Olson was born in Sevde, Norway, on Dec. 11, 1851, and died in the Story City hospital after a brief illness May 12, 1939, at the age of 88 1/2 years.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1882 she immigrated to America, residing near Roland and later in Des Moines.
On Sept. 25, 1888, she was united in marriage to Charles Olson at Des Moines. To this union four children were born, three of whom are living, one dying in infancy.
In 1896 the family moved to a farm in Hardin county, where they continued to live until the year 1929, when they moved to Radcliffe, where they made their home until the death of Mr. Olson in 1934. Since then she has been making her home with her children.
She leaves to mourn her passing three children, Mrs. Selma Knutson of Story City, Mrs. Emma Pederson and Elof Olson of Radcliffe, twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; also a sister, Mrs. John Langland of Des Moines, a brother, Paul Flogstad of Milwaukee, besides many other relatives.
