O. O. ANDERSON DEAD AT ROLAND

Passed Away There Saturday After Long Illness

O. O. Anderson, 69, longtime prominent citizen of this part of the county, died at his home in Roland early Saturday morning after a lingering illness.

Mr. Anderson, son of one of the pioneer Milford township families, was a native of Norway, Europe, but came to America with his parents when a child. The family located on a farm south of Roland and there he grew to manhood, one of a large family of eleven children.

Married three times himself, he was the father of seventeen children, sixteen of whom survive him.

He was first married to Bertha Raymond and their home was for some time at Sioux Rapids. Four children were born to them, one dying in infancy. The others are Oscar Anderson of Sioux Rapids, Mrs. George Reng of Sioux Rapids, and Lars Anderson of Chester.

He was next married to Oleva Osmundson, who lived three years after marriage and was the mother of two children, they being Julia Anderson of Des Moines and Mrs. Lloyd Bock of Minneapolis.

Returning to Story county he moved onto a farm and established a fine home west of Roland and here he was married to Anna Ristesund, who was the mother of eleven children, nine of whom are at home. Those married are Mrs. Leonard Lyles of Clinton and Mrs. Howard Corpening of Saratoga, Wyo. Those at home are Sherman, Obed, Floyd, Ralph, Lawrence, Joel, Myrtle, Ethel and Patricia.

He also leaves four brothers, O. B. of Clarion, J. O. of Story City, M. O. of Roland and J. T. of Nevada, and three sisters, twin sisters, Ellen and Nellie Anderson of Minneapolis, and Mrs. John Egenes of Renwick.
