TOM TJERLAND [SIC]

Tom Tjerland [sic] died Jan. 25 at the Joe Chelsvig home, northeast of Roland from a ruptured appendix. Funeral was held at Salem church in Roland, and interment was in the Zion cemetery.

Mr. Tjerland [sic] was born and reared in the community northeast of Roland, and was 47 years old at the time of his death. He had been making his home with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Chelsvig for some time while he attended to his farm located near the Chelsvig home. He was of a quiet disposition, and altho he never took active part in community social affairs, he will be greatly missed by those with whom he associated.

He is survived by his only sister, Mrs. Joe Chelsvig, and three brothers, Ole T. Tjerland of Highmore, S. D., Carl Tjerland of Elmore, Minn., and A. Tjerland of Britt.
