JACOBSON BORN IN STORY CITY
Albert Jacobson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jacobson, pioneers of Story county, was born January 23, 1877, on a farm 3 1/2 miles southwest of Story City. He spent his boyhood days on the farm with his parents until he was 21 years of age.
On February 19, 1897, he was united in marriage to Josie Larson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Larson, also pioneers of this county. To this union were born five sons and four daughters, two sons having died in infancy. Their second year of married life was spent at Watkins Well, then owned by his father, and now known as Lake Comar. Most of the following year he spent with his father constructing railroad bridges. In 1900 they moved to a farm two miles northeast of Gilbert, where he farmed until 1911. From that time on he was manager of the Farmers Elevator at Gilbert, about 15 years. The last five years of that time he and his family resided in Gilbert.
He moved to Story City in 1929 where he sold various feeds and Farm Bureau products until he went into partnership in a Chevrolet garage in Story City.
He had been failing in health for several years, but had not been confined to his home until three weeks before his death. Angina pectoris caused his death, which came near three o'clock Sunday morning, November 4, 1934.
He leaves to mourn, his wife, four daughters: Mrs. Victor Lura of Gilbert, Mrs. William Frandson of Story City, Mrs. Byron Tressler of Ponsford, Minn., and Irene of Ames; and three sons: Arnold, Burnice and Truman of Story City; six grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Arthur Harmon of Hampton, Mrs. Nels Donhowe of Story City, Mrs. Chas. Frost of Coachella Valley, Cal., and one brother, Henry of Des Moines.
Mr. Jacobson was baptized in the Norwegian Lutheran church, and was a faithful member of the St. Petri church at Story City. He was an honest, faithful and loving father and a good Christian man of a quiet and pleasant nature. His ever cheerful disposition will be missed by his host of friends.
Much comfort has been derived from the following poem written by James W. Riley:
"He Is Just Away"
"I cannot say, and I will not say that he is dead--he is just away! With cheery smile and a wave of the hand, and left us dreaming how very fair it needs must be, since he lingers there. And you--oh, you, who the wildest yearn, for the old time step and the glad return; Think of him faring on, as dear in the love of There as the love of here; Think of him still as the same, I say: He is not dead--he is just away.Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 7th, at 1:30 o'clock at the house and 2:00 o'clock at the St. Petri church at Story City. Pallbearers were Jos. Hoversten of Roland, Arthur Boyd and Lawrence Donhowe of Story City, Waltin Olson of Calamus, Arthur Harmon of Hampton and Ed Dyvig of Stanhope.

Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. Waltin Olson of Calamus, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Harmon and Charles of Hampton, Mrs. Sophia Larson and Mr. and Mrs. James Larson of Kelley, Mr. and Mrs. Osmond Thorsdale, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ihle and Mr. and Mrs. Amos Ihle of Slater, Martin Olson, Joseph B.
