J. A. WELLINGTON DIED IN NEW YORK

Well Known Story City Man Passed to His Reward Sunday Night

A brief message from Tully, N. Y., this morning states that J. A. Wellington had died at that place Sunday night.

He was nearly 81 years old. For nearly twenty years he had made his home with relatives in New York.

Mr. Wellington was a brother of the late Mrs. W. A. Wier and came here with his young wife to teach school in the early 80's. Both he and his wife taught in Story City and in surrounding country schools for a number of years, but during his latter years here Mr. Wellington had dealt in insurance. Mrs. Wellington went to live with her mother in Michigan about 30 years ago, upon whose death she secured a divorce and married D. A. Darrow, a former Story City man at Dyer, Tenn.

Mr. Wellington was well liked by all who knew him. A large number of men and women who knew him. A large number of men and women who went to school to him will especially remember him as a straightforward teacher who interested himself in the task of imparting knowledge to his pupils.
