ERICK TWEDT REACHED RIPE OLD AGE
Erick E. Twedt was born at Skjold, near Haugesund, Norway, Spt. 1st, 1842, and died at Story City, Iowa, March 26, 1933, at the ripe age of 90 years and six months.
Nov. 16, 1875, he was united in marriage to Hansine Sandford. To this union were born seven children: Ole and Erick of Thief River Falls, Minn.; Martin of Story City; Mrs. Belle Goodmanson, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Emil and Mrs. Sena Slette of Walter, Minn., and Mrs. Inger Nelson of Stanhope.
Mr. Twedt came with his family to America in 1882 and made his first home with Margerete Maland, west of Randall. Having learned the carpenter trade in Norway he pursued the same work here for a long time until he bought a farm seven miles west of Story City. In 1915 he moved to Story City, where he has since lived.
Mr. Twedt was of a quiet disposition, a good neighbor, and he strove to live an honest life toward God and man. Since he came to Story City he has been a faithful member of the Bethel Lutheran church. He was a firm believer in the Lord and his highest wish was to serve Him.
He is survived by his widow and the aforementioned children and also 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Bethel church where Rev. Paulsrud officiated Wednesday, March 29. Interment was made in the Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers were: Herman Knutson, Lars Stenson, John Heggen, Tom Mathre, P. N. Skogerboe and Ole Henderson.
