Mrs. Geo. Rickerl Died in South Dakota
(Elkton, S. D., Record)

Mrs. George Rickerl passed away peacefully at her home Saturday morning, Feb. 4, of bronchitis at the age of 69 years and 7 months.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's church Monday morning, conducted by Father F. X. Dooley. Interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery.

Mary Ann Konz was born in Bavaria, Germany, June 21st, 1863. She came to Ohio in 1883. In the spring of 1884 she came to Iowa. On June 25, 1884, she was united in marriage to George Rickerl at State Center, where they lived for a time and then moved to a farm 7 miles southwest of Story City. Here they lived for 9 years.

With their family they moved to Elkton, S. D., in the spring of 1901, where she lived until the time of her death.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and eleven children, one daughter having preceded her in death: Mrs. Rose Geraets and Casper of Dell Rapids; Frank of Story City; Mrs. Barbara Baldus and George Jr., of Boone; Thomas of Bushnell; Mrs. Johanna Boelens; Mrs. Mary Howell, John, William and Bernice of Elkton. All of them were present at the funeral. Also she leaves 21 grandchildren.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral included: John Geraets and children John, Peter and Catherine, Mrs. Henry Geraets and children Marie and Henry, and Bernice and Lawrence Rickerl of Dell Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Clem Siemers and Alvin of Morgan, Minn. and Mrs. Odin Shakstad of Sioux Falls.
