Obituary of Mrs. Lars Thorson

Magretta Skeie, daughter of Guro Knudtsdatter Sand and Daniel Hanson Skeie, was born in Skeie, Sand, Stavanger, Norway, Nov. 11, 1853, and died in her home in Story City Oct. 24, 1932, at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 18 days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. Thorne in the Lutheran church in Sand.

She came to this country in 1895, making her home with a sister, Mrs. Knudt Fjetland in Ellsworth until she moved to Story City, where she lived in the Lars Thorson home.

She was united in marriage to Lars Thorson in 1900. There were no children to bless this union. She lived on the farm two miles east of Story City until 1914, after which time she has made her home in Story City.

She leaves to mourn her loss three step children, Mrs. Torkel Z. Henryson and Wier Thorson of Story City, and Tom Thorson of Kanawha, and her sister, Mrs. Knute Fjetland of Ellsworth. Her husband preceded her in death in 1909, also her parents, three brothers and three sister all having died in Norway except her brother, Hans D. Hanson, who died in Story City in 1929.
