MRS. KARI HAUGE DIED AT ROLAND FRIDAY

Mrs. Kari Hauge, 89, pioneer Iowan, died Friday at the home of her nephew and nice, Mr. and Mrs. O. O. Lein at Roland. She had been in Ames Thursday and had been in good health. She became ill after retiring and died within an hour.

Mrs. Hauge made her home in Belmond, where funeral services were held Monday. She was born in Norway but came to this country in 1866 and settled in the northern part of Polk county.

She is survived by five sons, A. O. Hauge, Martin Hauge and Edwin Hauge, all of Des Moines, Thor Hauge of Minneapolis and Lewis Hauge of Belmond. A sister, Mrs. Anna Martinsen of Calgary, Canada, also survives. In addition she leaves 33 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
