RAYMOND WATTS OBITUARY

Raymond Lincoln Watts was born Feb. 12, 1909, and died at his home southeast of Gilbert July 29, 1931, aged 22 years, 5 months and 17 days. Raymond grew up to manhood in the community west of Gilbert and was a member of the Young People's class of the Zenorsville Sunday school. He graduated from the Gilbert High school in the class of 1927.

Dec. 23, 1929, he was married to Miss Evelyn Ostrem. This union, though a happy one, was short. Surviving him are his bereaved widow, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Watts, two sisters, Fern and Mrs. Glady Hein and four brothers, Donald, Lowell, Wallace and Lawrence of Boone. The writer visited Raymond a number of times and told him to look to Jesus as his Savior. We trust he did and we leave him with God.

The funeral services were held in Gilbert Congregational church, in charge of Rev. Lang assisted by Rev. Himmel. A quartet, consisting of Clayton Manges, Bert Kent, Rev. Himmel and David Dickinson, rendered several selections and Mrs. Sinn a solo, Mrs. M. W. McGuire at the piano. The pall bearers were Clair Musgrove, Byron Tressler, Maynard Myers, Edward Dodds, Imon Snyder and Noble Partlow. The floral tribute was bountiful and beautiful. Interment in Gilbert cemetery.

Friends attending the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. Mary Storen and Mrs. Lima Woods of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bunce of Mt. Vernon, S. D., Edith Woods of St. Paul, Mrs. Victor Bricker and Miss Iris and Ray Bunce of Artesian, S. D., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peterson and son, Ole Peterson and Mrs. Ole Peterson and son of Marathon, Mr. and Mrs. Hansel and son of Hardy.

In Memoriam

There is a vacant place at the table now that will never again be filled; For gone is he with his bright smile, and his pulse is forever stilled. There is a new made grave where flowers grow, and the grass waves in the spring. The winds will play o'er his silent tomb, while the birds will warble and sing. Let us not regret that he is gone, that his sorrows are over; That he has joined the Loved and Blessed gone before.

Dear Raymond, we all loved you, but love could not keep death's cold, icy hand away from the door. it has taken you away from us to peacefully rest on eternity's beautiful shore; That Jesus has prepared for all who love Him and serve Him. C. S. L.
