She was united in marriage to Mons Monson October 3, 1906, at Chicago, coming to her home south of Story City where she lived for nearly 24 years.

Her death was caused indirectly from a stroke, which she suffered nearly three years ago and from which she did not fully recover. She leaves to mourn her untimely death her husband and three children. They are Clarence, Betsy and Loretta, all at home. Also a step-mother, Mrs. Rebecca Obenschain, one brother, William Obenschain, and two half-brothers, Eff and Elmer Obenschain, one half-sister Purnia Strickler, all of Nace, Va., and a half-sister, Mrs. Lurena Cook, lives in Chicago, all of whom were unable to attend her funeral. Her parents, one son, Mons Jr., and a half-sister have preceded her in death.

At an early age she was baptized in the Baptist faith, but after her marriage attended the church of her husband's denomination. She was a kind and loving wife and mother who loved her home and was devoted to her family, and she will be greatly missed in her home and surrounding community.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Immanuel Lutheran church at Story City, following a short service at home. The services were in charge of Rev. T. T. Heimarck. The services were opened by singing "Rock of Ages," one of her favorite hymns. At the close of the service Miss Gladys Henderson sang "The Old Rugged Cross." The body was laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery at Story City. The pall bearers were: Andrew Michelson, Sam Wierson, lars Howland, Ira Brown, Jay Born and Halver Knutson. Many relatives and friends attended the funeral.
