OBITUARY

Borre Thompson

Borre Thompson was born at Roth, Stavanger, Norway, June 10, 1842, and died at his home in Story City, Jan. 27, 1921, aged 78 years, 7 months and 17 days.

He was married in Norway the first time. He and his family immigrated to America and settled at McCallsburg, where his wife died 25 years ago. From this union one child survives, namely, Mrs. Henry Jacobson of Morris, Minn., who was here at his funeral.

He then married Martha Stenson, and to this union four children were born, one of whom, Clarence, died at the age of five years. The other surviving children are: Gerhard, Maynard and Ella.

Funeral services were held in the St. Petri church Monday, conducted by the pastor, who spoke on the words: "I believed, therefore I spoke." A large concourse of people bore testimony to the feeling of kindliness which the members of the St. Petri congregation had come to feel towards the conscientious and taciturn man who, for a number of years has been their janitor.
