LITTLE GIRL IS KILLED BY AUTO
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dale Loses Life in Sad Accident at Mitchell, S.D.
The friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dale were shocked and saddened last Friday when the news spread around town that their next youngest child, Delores, had been killed the day before at Mitchell, S. D., by being run over by an automobile.
In appears that the little girl was playing on the sidewalk with other children. She started to cross the street, and made her way alongside an auto which was standing near the curb and which prevented her from seeing another auto coming down the street. The driver of the latter was also unable to see the child until his machine was literally over her. The fast moving machine crashed into the little girl and snuffed out her life so suddenly and so quickly that the driver scarcely knew what had happened before it was all over.
The remains were brought to Story City Saturday and the funeral conducted at the St. Petri church on Sunday afternoon.
Delores was five years old and vivacious and lovable child, and her untimely death has cast a gloom over the hearts of not only the parents but all who knew her.
