Death of Mrs. Hope

Mrs. Aslak Hope, whose illness we chronicled last week, passed to the better land Friday. The funeral services were held at the Bethel church Tuesday, conducted by her former pastor, Rev. Sandven of Roland, and the interment was made in the Roland cemetery.

Mrs. Sarah Hope was born in Vikebygd, Norway, Dec. 24, 1841, being thus at the time of her death 77 years and 4 months old. She was married in Norway and came to this country with her family in the year 1900. The family settled at first in Roland, but moved to Story City about six years ago.

Besides the husband, the following children survive to mourn a kind and loving mother: Daniel Hope, of Omaha; Malinda Haugland of Crystal Lake, Gurina Westergaard of Des Moines, Oscar Hope of Woden and Isaac Hope of this place.
