Severt Larson

Severt Larson was born January 17th, 1846, in Kvindhere, Norway and died May 23rd, 1918, near Story City, Ia. He was 72 years, 4 months and 5 days old.

Mr. Larson came to America when a young man, settling in Illinois in 1873. He was united in marriage to Anna Gulickson, then moved to Iowa, where he has lived for many years. Eight children were born to this union--3 girls and 5 boys. Four of these, with the mother, have gone on before, one boy dying in infancy. The daughters were Carrie Larson, Anna Cattell and Bertha Lyon. Mrs. Larson died Aug. 22, 1896, leaving several small children which Mr. Larson cared for. Four sons are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father, namely, Iver, Gustave, Lewis and Henry; also five grandchildren.

He was a kind neighbor, loved and respected by all who knew him.

Three sons were at his bedside when he passed away, one son, Gustave, being in Tacoma, Wash., at the time.

Mr. Larson was one of the old pioneers settling here when this country was new and it is a sad thing that he should be taken in the way he was, thru injuries caused by the cyclone.
