HARRY GANDRUP PASSED AWAY
After Five Months of Suffering He Died Last Saturday
Harry Gandrup died at his home in the north part of town last Saturday morning from the injuries sustained in an automobile accident five months ago.
The funeral services were held in the St. Petri church yesterday afternoon, the local stores being closed from 2 to 3 o'clock in respect to the passing of one of Story City's most beloved business men.
Harry D. Gandrup was born in Chicago, Nov. 28, 1877, being thus only a little over forty years of age. Since his accident all that loving hands could do for him was done, but nothing availed to stay the oncoming of the grim reaper. He was reconciled to the coming of his transition and died in the faith of his Redeemer.
The deceased was of a quiet and unassuming disposition. The writer had known him since boyhood and had come to recognize in him many sterling virtues. Though possessing a strong strain of humor, he was ever considerate of the feelings of others; for years he had given his best efforts to his profession and he was recognized as a capable successor to his father, who was for years famous as a pharmacist in this part of the state.
