DEATH OF BEN L. DALE.

Ben L. Dale died at his home near Gilbert at half past one o'clock Wednesday morning Sept. 30, after an illness of more than a year. For a time during the summer he appeared to be getting better and was able to get around considerable. Two weeks ago he went to Ihlen, Minn., for a stay with his uncle, L. L. Dale, which had seemed to help him last spring, but he got worse and had to be taken home.

Ben Dale was born in Story City and spent his early youth here. The writer knew him as a boy. He was always of a quiet disposition, friendly and a capable worker. He attained to the age of 28 years and 3 days. Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris. Dale, and five brothers and sisters, he leaves a wife and little daughter to mourn his death.

The funeral services were held from the South St. Petri church Friday afternoon in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends.
