OBITUARY.

JOSEPH THOMAS HOLM.

Joseph Thomas Holm was born Nov. 5, 1894, and died May 9, 1909, aged 14 years and 6 months. His death came unexpectedly. He had been sick with scarlet fever, but had apparently recovered and was up and around. Even the day before he died he was feeling fairly good, though slightly affected with kidney trouble. Suddenly he was taken down with convulsions, and through medical aid was immediately summoned nothing could be done for him. A series of convulsions completely sapped his strength, though his last four hours were blessed with peace and rest.

Joseph was a student at the Story City high school, where his teachers and classmates found him to be a cheerful and upright boy. At home he was ever helpful and pleasant, ready at all times to make himself useful around the house. His age and disposition rendered him a great aid in the home, and his parents great promise for him. But it was not so to be. The life that promised so much for this world has been transferred to the Better Land, where sin and sorrow have ceased to handicap the liberated soul.

He was a member of this year's confirmation class of the St. Petri church, and had he lived would have been confirmed next Sunday. May his memory be a blessing to his parents, relatives and schoolmates.
