OBITUARY.
MRS. GOODMAN LEE.
Mrs. Goodman Lee died at her home near Ayrshire, Ia., April 14, 1909, after a long period of sickness. The funeral was held in the Methodist church at Ayrshire, Friday, April 16, Rev. Wigdahl of Rutven and Rev. Miller of Ayrshire officiating. The deceased's two sisters, Mrs. M. O. Wigen of Laurens, Ia., and Mrs. E. L. Severeid of Story City, were present at the funeral, but her three brothers, John, Osmund and George Siverson, who live at Church's Ferry, N. D., were unable to be there.
Mrs. Lee's maiden name was Maria Siverson (Sorheim). She was born near Cambridge, Ia., Nov. 11, 1869, and was married to Goodman Lee, April 12, 1891. Five children were born to this union, 2 boys and 3 girls; one of the boys and 3 girls; one of the boys had already preceded her to the better land, leaving four children to mourn the loss of an affectionate mother.
She took sick last October and since that time has been unable to lie in a bed, her illness being of such a nature to compel her to sit in a chair night and day. This made the moments pass slowly and the days grew longer and longer as the end drew near. She bore her pains with patience, however, and though they pressed from her tears of anguish at times, she still murmured not. May God help the sorrowing husband and children to bear their loss and may they look to Him wo supplieth all their needs.
May she rest in peace and her memory be a benediction. E. L. S.
