KAREN KOLD DIED AT RIPE OLD AGE

PASSED AWAY LAST SUNDAY MORNING AT ALMOST NINETY YEARS

Mrs. Karen Kold died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Halleland, last Sunday morning at the great age of 89 years and 8 1/2 months. She had been suffering from old age debility for some time and was glad to heed the summons which called her to the better land.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the St. Petri church. Rev. Vangsnes officiated, and in his sermon paid a fine tribute to the excellence of the departed's life and character.

Mrs. Kold was born at Torpen, Norway, Feb. 10, 1822. She was married at the age of twenty-one and with her husband moved to Story City about twenty-eight years ago. Mr. Kold died nineteen years ago, and since then with her daughter, where she received the best care that affectionate hands could give her in her declining years. Another daughter, Mrs. G. Amlund, also lives here.
