MRS. KNUTE TWEDT

Mrs. Brits Twedt, wife of Knute Twedt deceased, passed away at the family home two and one-half miles east of this city, Wednesday morning, Jan. 29. She was one of the pioneers of Howard township, having lived here over fifty years. The deceased was born in Nottstad*, Norway, November 25, 1826, making her 86 years of age. She had been confined to her bed since Thanksgiving day, her daughter Miss Anna having cared for her. She was married in Norway in the yar 1854 and she and her husband came to this country and located in Illinois. There they lived for two years, when they came to this state and located near Story City. They made their home with Mr. and Mrs. John Michaelson for a year and from there they moved onto a farm three miles north of Story City, where they lived until they moved onto the place, where she died. Eight children were born to her, five of whom are living and three, Mrs. Betsy Christian, Maggie and another daughter, are dead. Her husband died in 1884, so she had been a widow for twenty-nine years. Besides these children she leaves one sister, Mrs. Knut Peterson of Roland and thirty two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
