NEVADA BAKER KILLED BY TRAIN

FATAL RAILROAD CROSSING ACCIDENT AT COLO TUESDAY MORNING

Chris Gunderstrup [should be Gundestrup which is substituted hereafter], proprietor of a bakery at Nevada, was killed at Colo Tuesday noon when an east bound train on the Northwestern railroad struck the truck in which he was riding. Gundestrup was entering the town, and it believed he was unable to see the train. The truck, which was loaded with bread to be delivered in Colo, was completely ruined. The truck was dragged 100 feet down the track; and the occupant was thrown through the cab, his head being completely crushed.

The train was going between 15 and 20 miles per hour, the bell was ringing as a warning, but being inside the cab on the truck together with the noise from the car, the driver was unable to hear the oncoming train. He was 45 years old, a native of Denmark and had lived in Nevada about 20 years. He is survived by his wife and four children, one of whom is married. His oldest son was also killed in a train accident about three years ago in Montana.

Mr. Gundestrup delivered bakery goods to several firms in Roland, and was known to several at this place.
