OBITUARY
Mrs. L. J. Tjernagel

Sarah Johnson was born in Norway, Ill., Dec 6, 1861, her parents being John and Sarah Johnson-Solberg. She died in Story City July 17, 1914, aged 52 years, 7 months and 11 days.

Her parents moving to Iowa when she was two years old, she lived in Benton county until June 11, 1885, when she married L. J. Tjernagel and moved to Story City. She has lived here ever since, with the exception of five years, when she and her family lived in Decorah. Four children were born to her, all of whom are living namely, Clarence, Mabel (Mrs. Dornack of Rochester, Minn.), Alvina and Sarah Lucille. All the children were at the funeral.

Mrs. Tjernabel had not been in good health for some years, but it was not until early this spring that it was suspected that she was seriously sick. For three months she grew steadily worse, and the severing of life's cord was looked for for several weeks. She died in the faith that had sustained her through life and she was glad to heed the summons which called her to a better world.

Besides the husband and children, who feel the loss of a loving spouse and mother most keenly, the deceased leaves numerous friends in and around Story City who will long remember her many good qualities.
