OBITUARY OF O. W. OLSON

O. V. Olson (Waula) was born June 12, 1846, at Aske, Moster, Øino, Norway. Was united in marriage to Metta Anderson July 9, 1868. To the union was born eight children. In the year 1882, Mr. and Mrs. Olson and sic children came to America, locating near Seneca, LaSalle county, Ill.

In 1893 they moved to Iowa, locating on a farm southwest of McCallsburg, where they lived for 10 years, moving to McCallsburg in 1903, where they resided until his death. He passed away Sunday noon, the 28th of December, 1924, at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 16 days.

Mrs. Olson died January 9, 1922. Three children have also preceded him in death, one at the age of six days, in Norway, and two at the ages of six and eight years in Illinois.

Mr. Olson is survived by five children, Andrew, Ole V., Mrs. Fred Jorstad, Marie, and J. Morgan Olson, all of McCallsburg, nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Olson's health had been failing the last two years and three weeks ago he suffered a stroke from which he, to some extent, recovered, but other ailments set in and he passed away quietly at the above mentioned time.

He never complained but was cheerful to the last, he said, "May the Lord do with me as he pleases." His trials are over. He has won. Friends, we are here in this vale of sorrow and strife. Shall we give up and lose?

Funeral was held at the Lutheran church, at McCallsburg, his pastor, Rev. T. H. Benson, officiating, on December 31, 1924, and was laid to rest in the cemetery south of town to await the call on the great day when Jesus comes in the glory of the Father to give unto each as he has done good or evil.
