MRS. ROBERTSON DIED FRIDAY
DEATH COMES TO HER AT THE RIPE AGE OF 89 YEARS
Mrs. Magretha Robertson, the widow of Peter Robertson, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Johnson, Friday, Jan. 2. She had been sick for quite a while suffering intensely towards the last. The funeral was held Monday in the Bethel church of which Mrs. Robertson was a member, Rev. Paulsrud officiating.
Mrs. Robertson was born in Klipping, Sjaelland, Denmark, Feb. 28, 1825, and died Jan. 2, 1914, aged 88 years, 10 months and 5 days. She was married to Peter Robertson in 1851 and with him immigrated to America in 1870, locating in Story county, where they both resided until the day of their death. Her husband died 13 years ago, since when she had made her home with her daughter in Story City.
Seven years ago Mrs. Robertson suffered a stroke of paralysis which left her so crippled that she was unable to walk. This misfortune she bore with the fortitude of one who had come to a full realization that this earthly home was but a passing stage.
Nine children were born to Mrs. Robertson, 3 dying in infancy and 3--namely, Robert, Sophia and James--dying after nearly reaching the age of maturity. The surviving daughters are: Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Arnold of Evanston, Wyo., and Mrs. J. C. Johnson of this place.
