OBITUARY OF MRS. GUNDER THOMPSON

Mrs. Gunder Thompson died at her home in the east part of town last Saturday after a lingering illness of about seven months from tumor of the stomach. She was taken to the sanitarium at Nevada about two months ago for treatment, but did not improve any, so was brought home again and has been gradually failing since.

Maria Jacobsdatter Aabe was born in Bakka, Søvde, Stavanger, Norway, on June 4, 1851, she was married to Johannes Brekke in 1877, to which union six children were born, one of which, Mrs. Henry Brekke, died in 1916. They came to this country in 1881 to LaCrosse, Wis., where they lived for two years when the moved to a farm five miles southeast of Roland. Mr. Brekke died in 1900. In 1920 Mrs. Brekke moved to Roland where she has since resided. She was united in marriage to Gunder Thompson on Sept. 27, 1923. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Gunder Thompson, and three sons, John of Blue Earth, Minn., Jacob and Henry of McCallsburg, and two daughters, Mrs. T. T. Thompson of McCallsburg and Mrs. C. J. Olson of Mackey, and one brother, Mr. Jacob Obe of Randall.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon from Salem church, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud of Randall, conducting the services. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery.
