NELSON BURIED MONDAY
Torvald Nelson died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ole Gabrielson last Friday evening after an illness of several weeks from heart trouble. He had not been feeling well for some time and was induced to come to town and stay with his sister. A couple of weeks ago he commenced getting worse and finally passed away on Friday.
Torval Nelson (Gausland) Was born in Stavanger, Norway on Feb. 24, 1867 and the same year his parents emigrated to this country settling at Gilman where they remained until 1880 when the came to Story County settling on the farm now owned by Mr. Nelson. His father passed away in 1892 and his mother in 1915. His brother Axel, passed away several years ago and another brother died while a young child. He was married to Miss Lena Jacobson 1898 and to this union one child, Leonard, was born. Mrs. Nelson died in 1904. In 1908 he was married to Miss Ellen Waugh and to this union four children were born, of which one died in infancy the remaining children are Richard, Wilbur and Eldridge. Mrs. Ellen Nelson died in 1914. In 1916 is was marred to Mrs. Bertha Nelson from whom he was later separated. He is survived by his four sons, Leonard, Richard, Wilbur and Eldridge and one sister, Mrs. Ole Gabrielson.
Funeral services were held Monday from Salem church, Rev. J. N. Sandven and Rev. M. O. Sumstad conducting the services. Special music was rendered by a quintet. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery.
