OBITUARY

Mrs. Ole Hanson was born in Norway, April 8th, 1842 and died at her home southwest of Story City, September 23, 1916 at the age of 66 years, 5 months and 15 days.

In the year 1877 she was married to Ole Hanson, who died 4 years ago. To this union was born nine children, one of which died 11 years ago. The eight surviving children are, Mrs. Edd Sinn, Mrs. Geo. Askelson, Anphin, Edward, Andrew and Hans, who all live near to the parental home, and Mrs. Larson Christenson, Ormsby, Minn., and Mrs. Selmer Sandsgaard living in Marshalltown. She also has 11 grand children, and a brother and sister who live in Norway.

She was buried from South St. Petri, where relatives and neighbors met up in great numbers to pay their last respects to the departed. Rev. Heimarck spoke in Norwegian and in English, using for his texts the words: "It is far better to depart and be with Christ," and "In my Father's house are many mansions." Mrs. Hanson was of a quiet and unassuming character who lived for her home and her children whom she loved dearly and whose welfare she sought. Besides her own nine children she had also been a kind mother to four step-children who all love her and thank her for what she was to them in early childhood.
