OBITUARY

Mrs. Jacob Jorgenson

The subject of this sketch was born at Lisbon, Ill., August 25, 1848, and died at her home in Story City August 64, 1916, being thus a couple weeks short of sixty-eight years of age.

She came to Iowa in 1856, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Tungesvik, and on Nov. 8th, 1864, she was married to Jacob Jorgenson. To this union eleven children were born, eight of whom are living, namely: Mrs. B. T. Holm, M. J. Jorgenson, H. J. Jorgenson, Mrs. K. S. Olson, Anna Jorgenson, Mrs. W. E. Erickson and Ellen Jorgenson of this place, and Albert Jorgenson of Slater. Her husband died March 12, 1905.

The funeral services were held in the St. Petri church, Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 9, with a large attendance of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Jorgenson had been a member of the St. Petri congregation since its organization, and was as far as we know the last survivor of the original members.

She was a home loving woman, devoted to her family and kind and charitable to neighbors. Her influence will survive long and be a lasting benediction to her children.
