Mrs. Hans Peterson [sic]

Mrs. Hans Peterson [sic] was born in Denmark, Oct. 12, 1847. She immigrated to this country in her youth and on Nov. 8, 1872, she was married to Hans Peterson. For some years they lived in Marshalltown, then moved to Story County, her husband having purchased at farm out in Section Six. Here she lived the rest of her life.

Her husband died June 8, 1911, since when she has made her home with her grand-daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Omvig. She died July 11, 1916, aged 68 years and nine months.

One daughter, Mrs. H. P. Nelson*, survives her.

The funeral services were held in the Immanuel church last Thursday, Rev. Heimarck officiating.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The daughter of the deceased is Johanne Maria “Hannah” (Pedersen) Nielsen. She was married to Hans Peter Nielsen-- thus, Mrs. H. P. Nielsen.
