PIONEER LADY LAID TO REST

Mrs. Daniel Tressler Died at Home of Son Friday

Mrs. Daniel Tressler passed with the dying of the old year last Friday. She had been in failing health for several years, which time she had spent at the homes of her sons, Charles and Robert. Her death occurred at the home of the former, west of town.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Wendel, and the interment was at Center cemetery beside her husband, who preceded her to the better land some years ago.

Mrs. Tressler belonged to that sturdy class of pioneer women to whom this western country owes so much. The surviving members of the family will greatly miss her, as will many of those who have known her in years gone by.

Obituary

Margaret Moses-Tressler, was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, Feb. 2, 1841. In 1856 she came with her parents to Stephenson County, Illinois.

On Dec. 3, 1863, she was married to Daniel Tressler. To this union thee were five sons born, three dying in early childhood. The two living to mourn her loss are Charles H. Tressler of Story City and Robert D. Tressler of Gilbert; also four brothers and one sister, namely T. j. Moses of Marshalltown, Lewis Moses of Cedarville, Ill., Mrs. Mary E. Cooper of Belmont, Mont., J. A. Moses of Aurora, Neb., and J. H. Moses of Cedarville, Ill.

In 1873 Mr. and Mrs. Tressler moved from Freeport, Ill., to near Story City, where they lived on the farm until the fall of 1899, when they moved to Story City, where Mr. Tressler died Oct. 21, 1904. Mrs. Tressler continued to live in Story City until about three years ago. Since that time she has been living with her sons, Charles and Robert.

She died at the home of Charles Tressler, Dec. 31, 1915, age 74 years, 10 months, 29 days.
