THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, October 20, 2005.

Timothy Pepper, 62, died Monday, Oct. 17, in a motorcycle accident. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Faith Lutheran Church, 10395 University Ave., in Clive. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., in Des Moines.

Timothy was born June 3, 1943, in Boone, to Maurice (Chuck) and Vera Pepper. He was a special education administrator with Heartland AEA for more than 30 years. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He enjoyed many kinds of music, the outdoors, national parks, motorcycle riding, bad jokes and good food.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Bargstadt of Ankeny; his children, Anne (Tanner Abbott) Pepper of Topeka, Kan., Tom Pepper of Santa Cruz, Calif., Sarah (Matt) Reisetter of Iowa City, Kristin Bargstadt of Iowa City and Matt Bargstadt of Ankeny; his father-in-law, Helmer Haugland of Inwood; former spouse, Mary Pepper of Ames; former mother-in-law, Edna Van Zee of Prairie City; his dear friend, Bonnie Suss, and a host of other family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Des Moines Audubon Society, 9871 Lincoln Ave., Des Moines, IA 50325, and Special Olympics, 3737 Woodland Ave, West Des Moines, IA 50266.
