WAS RESIDENT OF STORY CITY OVER SIXTY YEARS
Lars Jondall, Old Pioneer Laid to Rest Last Wedneday
Lars L. Jondall was born March 8, 1848, at Jondall, Norway, and died of pneumonia at his son Fred's home in Ames, Nov. 24, 1929, being 81 years old at the time of his death.
He came to America in 1866 and settled in Story City. He was married to Elizabeth Thompson April 25, 8174 [sic], by Rev. Amlund in the St. Petri Lutheran church. They made their home in Story City until 1884, when they moved to Palo Alto county, where they lived on a farm. There they lived until 1912 when they moved back to Story City. Mr. Jondall lived here ever since his wife having preceded him in death two years ago.
The children to mourn his death are Mrs. H. J. Wilcox of Ruthven, Mrs. J. P. Larson of Emmetsburg, Mrs. John Lund of San Diego, Calif., Louis of Roland, Hannah and Fred of Ames and Minnie of Chicago, Ill.
The funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 27, at St. Petri church, Revs. W. B. Scarvie and T. T. Heimarck officiating. The pallbearers were A. M. Henderson, Andrew Williamson, Gerhard Larson, B. B. Brattebo, S. Grotness and E. P. Anderson.
