Frank Henry Uthe, son of Frank Uthe Sr., was born at Haverhill, Iowa, July 29, 1886, and died at his home northwest of Gilbert, Iowa, Sept. 4, 1929, at the age of 43 years, 1 month and 7 days.

He came with his parents to Gilbert in the year 1891 and here he grew to manhood. In 1910 he and his brother Anton went to live on a farm north of Boone, where they resided for a year, moving then to Minnesota where they stayed until 1914, coming to their farm north of Gilbert.

In 1920 Frank moved to his farm northwest of Williams, and on April 5, 1921, he took as his wife Teresa Minch of Springfield, Ill. They lived on their farm near Williams until the spring of 1923 when they again moved to their farm northwest of Gilbert where they resided at the time of Frank's sudden death.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, father and step-mother (his mother had preceded him in death); he also leaves three brothers and two sisters, namely: Anton and Joe Uthe of Story City, John Uthe of Boone, Lena Uthe of Des Moines, and Mrs. Carl Beyer of Dows; and five half brothers, namely: Alouies Uthe of Boone, Christine, Elizabeth, Ann, Frederick, Bertha, Raymond, Arthur, Sylvester and Dorothy at home; besides a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic church, Gilbert, Friday morning, Sept. 6, at 8:30 a.m., by the Rev. D. A. Gorman. The pall bearers were intimate friends of the deceased, namely: Carl Baldus, Leo Bowlds, Charles Hanneman, Clarence Hadaway, Frederick Reinsch and Isidor Weigel. The remains were taken to Springfield, Ill. for burial at Calvary cemetery.

Those who went with the body were his wife and Anton Uthe, John Uthe, Lena Uthe and Alouies Uthe.

Sincerest sympathy is extended to his wife and relatives in their sad bereavement.

Brother Frank, you have left us,
Left us all forevermore,
But we hope to meet you, brother,
On that bright and happy shore.
