Mrs. John Tungesvik Laid to Rest

Mrs. Martha Tungesvik was born in Norway, July 9, 1841, and died at the home of her son, Martin, west of Story City, May 25, there being 82 years old at th time of her death.

She was married to John J. Tungesvik in 1863 and they immigrated to America in 1872, settling on a farm near Roland where they lived for two years, the moved to a farm near Story City. Her husband died in 1906. Six children were born to this union, all surviving her and being present at the funeral, which was held Tuesday, May 29, in the Bethel church. The surviving children are: Mrs. T. P. Herman of Ruthton, Minn.; Thomas of Tyler, Minn.; Ole of Madison, S. D.; and John, Martin and Lewis of near Story City. She also leaves a sister who lives in Norway.

She had not been specially ill, only failing in strength due to her age. She was visiting for a few days at the home of her son, Martin, and had gone to bed feeling much as usual. In the morning, however, it was discovered that the angel of death ha called in the night and her soul had taken it flight.
