T. S. Thompson of Marshalltown Passed Away Last Week

Tollef S. Thompson, 59, of Marshalltown, janitor of Arnold school, died of liver complications at his home there early Saturday morning. He had been in failing health for some time and two months ago submitted to an operation.

Mr. Thompson was born in Morris, Ill., Sept. 9, 1863. He was united in marriage with Miss Christina Sandvick of near Nevada, Sept. 29, 1899. The widow survives besides numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Thompson was a member of Elim Lutheran Church and of the board of deacons and he was also superintendent of the Sunday School fifteen years. The funeral services were held at the Elim church at 10 o'clock after a short service at the home at 9:30. The body was then brought here where services were held at the Bergen Lutheran church and interment took place in the Roland cemetery.

Many from Marshalltown accompanied this well known man of their acquaintance to this place to show their last respects to the deceased. Among the out of town attendants were: Messrs. and Mesdames O. C. Hougland and Hanson of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Johnson and Mrs. Olena Johnson of LeGrand, Mr. and Mrs. Osten Nelson of Belmond, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Sandvick of McCallsburg, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Sandvick of Nevada, and Lewis Sandvick of Omaha.
