YOUNG MOTHER BURIED SUNDAY

Young Wife Dies in California, Leaving Husband and Two Children. Funeral Services Last Sunday.

Alma Scott Thompson was born October 24, 1896, at Marshalltown and died April 22, 1923 at 11 o'clock in her home in Ocean Park, California. She had been quite ill the previous week with double pneumonia and hopes for her recovery were very small. In July, 1915, she was united in marriage to Mr. K. C. Thompson and to this union were born, Donald age 7 and Dona age 5.

Mr. Thompson left California with the corpse on Thursday, April 26, and arrived at Nevada Sunday morning. Funeral services were conducted from Salem-Lutheran church last Sunday afternoon, Rev. J. N. Sandven having services in charge, and speaking the comforting words to the bereaved families. The choir rendered a very beautiful song. Interment took place at the Roland cemetery. She leaves to mourn her untimely death, besides her husband and two children, her mother, Mrs. C. Scott of this place and one sister, Margaret, of Des Moines, also a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Thompson lived here with her mother several years prior to her marriage, and made many friends, who loved and highly respected her and who deeply feel their loss. Mr. Thompson will not return to the west this summer, but will make his home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Thompson, of Clear Lake.

Card of Thanks

We wish to take this means of expressing our thanks to the many kind relatives and friends who so kindly assisted and in many ways showed their deep sympathy for us in our recent bereavement for the loss of our beloved wife and daughter. We especially wish to thank Rev. Sandven for his comforting words and to the choir for their beautiful singing and to all those giving the beautiful floral offerings.
K. C. Thompson and children,
Mrs. C. Scott,
Margaret Scott
