OBITUARY
Mrs. Hogen Frette
Mrs. Hogen Frette [aka Haakon Frette] was born at Skaanevik, Norway, March 2, 1854, and died at her home in Story City, May 14, 1925, at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 12 days.
Her maiden name was Siri Thorson Severeid. She was married to Hogen Frette April 18, 1883, and the same year they immigrated to America, arriving at Lisbon, Ill., the 23rd of May. They lived at Lisbon until Feb. 19, 1901, when they moved to Iowa, settling on a farm northeast of Story City, which remained their home until 11 1/2 years ago when they moved to tow.
Mrs. Frette had been ill for some months and death came as a reliever of her earthly physical distress. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and six children, namely, Mrs. Lewis Oleson, Mrs. Nels Thompson, Mrs. I. Brownold of Des Moines, Mrs. Henry Hanson, Mrs. Jake Larson and Elmer Frette. One sister, Mrs. John S. Johnson of Morris, Ill., and 20 grandchildren also survive her.
Funeral services were held on Monday in the home and in the Immanuel church, Rev. Heimarck officiating. Six nephews were pallbearers, namely, Elmer and Peter Thorson, Milo and Ira Thorson, Gerhard Thorson and Theo Johnson.
Among those from a distance who came to the funeral were Mrs. Johnson of Morris, Ill., Erick Tweeten of Minneka, Ill., Ed Ryg and daughters Josie and Edith, Mrs. Clarence Ryg and daughter Adriana and Miss Harriet Sheldahl of Slater, Elmer Thorson and family and Tom Thorson and family of Kanawha, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Thompson of Jewell, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Thorson of Calamus, Mrs. John Berglow and Harland and Opal of Ames, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl McKibben of Ames.
