Services Held for Henry A. Larson
Funeral services for Henry A. Larson of Cambridge were held on Wednesday, Mar. 25 at 2 p. m. at the Palestine Lutheran Church. Pastor Ernest Thompson officiated at the service using as his text John 11:25-27.
Mrs. Osmond Larson and Mrs. Arlin Sheldahl sang, "How Great Thou Art," accompanied by the organist, Miss Lois Nelson. At the close of the service the congregation sang, "My Faith Looks Up to Thee."
Nephews of the deceased served as pallbearers. They were: Lawrence Larson, Lester Larson, Edward Larson, Elman Sheldahl, Arlin Sheldahl and Robert Sheldahl.
Burial was in the Palestine Cemetery.
Obituary
Henry A. Larson, son of Lars and Randie Larson, was born on Oct.24, 1894 near Huxley and passed away at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames on Mar. 22, 1970 after a brief illness at the age of 75 years.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
On Apr. 12, 1917 he was united in marriage to Alice Sheldahl. To this union was born two children, Noel and Donald LaVerne. The latter passing away in infancy.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; a son and daughter-in-law, Noel and Leona Larson; two grandchildren, Arlene and Leonard Larson, all of Cambridge; a sister, Miss Carrie Larson of Des Moines; a brother, Lewis of Huxley, several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sister, Julia Weeks, Anna Louise, and Mary Flugum, and brothers, Osmond, Oscar, Andrew and an infant brother.
