CHARLES THORSBAKKEN

Charles Thorsbakken, 50, of Huxley, died suddenly Sunday morning, August 9, 1981 at St. Paul, Minnesota, where he was visiting friends.

He was born May 18, 1931, the son of Otis and Emma Thorsbakken. He attended the Randall schools and was a veteran of Navy during the Korean War. On Dec. 31, 1953, he married June Stenberg in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Mr. Thorsbakken was employed by the Iowa State University farm service department. He had lived in Huxley the past several years.

He is survived by his wife, June, two daughters, Jone Longnecker of Huxey and Sue Philbrook of Ankeny, two sons, Tim and Tom of Huxley, a brother, Harold of Milaca, Minn., a sister, Shirley Bryan of Little Rock, Calif., and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church, Huxley with burial following in the Fjeldberg Cemetery south of Huxley.

Friends may call at the Soderstrum Larson Funeral Home, Story City from Tuesday til time of service. The family will meet friends at 7 p.m. that eveninag.
