Services Held for George W. Lyle
Funeral services for George Lyle were held Wednesday afternoon at the Bethlehem church at 2 o'clock.
Rev. P. E. Onstad had charge of the services and preached on the theme, "Seek Ye the Lord While He May Be Found." He also sang two songs, "Just As I Am" and "God Calling Yet."
Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased: Floyd, Raymond and Robert Williams, Melvin Marvelli and Howard and Tommy Halverson. Burial was in the Slater cemetery.
Obituary.
George W. Lyle, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Lyle, was born at Pekay, Ia., Dec. 26, 1872.
On Mar. 8, 1898 he was united in marriage to Daisy Duncan. To this union four daughters were born.
For the past 30 yeas he has been a resident of this community. Two weeks ago he entered the Story County home near Nevada, where he passed away Saturday, Mar. 25, at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 30 days.
His wife and three grandchildren preceded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his departure, four daughters: Sylvia Mackey Aquloni, Elsie Williams of Madrid, Elva Holmes of Des Moines and Stella Whiting of Nevada; also nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
His daughter, Stella Whiting of Nevada, was with them at the time of his death.
