THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, September 27, 2005.

Mary Josephine Wren, 84, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 23, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

Mary was born May 30, 1921, in Orient, Pa., to Michael and Fortunata Flamini and later moved to Monongah, W.Va. She married Clyde Wren Jan. 30, 1943 in Highlandtown, Md.; they moved to Ames in 1945.

Mary worked at Donnelley Marketing in Nevada, several places in Ames and Montgomery Ward until it closed in Ames. Mary enjoyed helping at Heartland Senior Center, sang with the Song Birds, volunteered at Mary Greeley Medical Center and was active at St. Cecilia Catholic Church until her health curtailed these activities.

She is survived by one daughter, Alfaratta (John) Terrones of Cedar Falls; one son, Ronald (Karen) Wren of Ames; 16 beloved grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Keith; one granddaughter; one sister; and one brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames with Father Terry Rassmussen presiding.

Memorials can be given to St. Cecilia Catholic Church or the charity of donor's choice.

She will be missed but never forgotten.
