Services Held For Mrs. Mabel Lein
Funeral services were held Thursday of last week for Mrs. Mabel Lein, who passed away the previous Monday at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Ihle.
A short services was held at 1:30 in the Amos Ihle home, followed by services in the Bethlehem Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. Rev. P. E. Onstad had charge of the services and used as his sermon theme, "The Everlasting Arms." Otis Ihle sang a solo, "Under His Wings." Pastor Onstad sang "I Know of a Sleep in Jesus' Name" and Nilus Ihle sang "The Lord's Prayer."
The many beautiful flowers were cared for by Mrs. Raymond Ryen and Mrs. Homer Lee. There were also many gifts to missions and other worthy causes in memory of Mrs. Lein.
Pallbearers were Arnold Ihle, Marion Ihle, Dale Pierce, Harlan Larson, Wayne Rimathe and Robert Weeks.
Burial was in the Bethlehem cemetery.
Obituary.
Mabel Ihle Lein, daughter of John and Anna Lein was born at Slater on May 10, 1902. She was baptized and confirmed in the Bethlehem Lutheran church.
She was married in 1924 and to this union one child was born, Lucile Hills, who now lives at Longview, Wash.
Mabel lived around Slater for 27 years and then moved to Story City where she lived until 1940. She moved to Ames in 1940 and resided there until the time of her illness.
She was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran church in Ames.
The last weeks of her life were spent in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Ihle.
Besides her mother and father and her daughter, Lucile, she leaves two brothers, Joe Ihle of Williams and Amos Ihle of Slater; also two sisters, Cora Ihle of Slater and Theresa Larson of Elkhart. Seventeen nieces and nephews also survive.
Blessed be the memory of Mabel Lein.

Among those from a distance attending the services for Mrs. Mabel Lein were: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ihle of Emmetsburg; Mrs. Milford Ihle of Elmore, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Merle Borchardt and Betty Jo and Mrs. Les Hill of Osage, Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. Minard Lein of Minnesota. There were also many from Des Moines, Nevada, Ames, Story City and other nearby towns.
